As we enter the new year, we’re excited to share key updates on Dakota Electric’s strategic initiatives. Our unwavering commitment to safety, member service, and innovation drives us forward.
Safety remains a top priority, with the second-year implementation of the Rural Electric Safety Achievement Program (RESAP) and active participation in the “Commitment to Zero Contacts” initiative.
In 2024, we’ll enhance cybersecurity and embrace technology with projects like the Customer Information System (CIS) upgrade and the development of a Distributed Energy Resource Management System (DERMS) strategy.
We’re actively pursuing grants for renewables and technology, investing in our distribution system for reliability.
In anticipation for the implementation of the Energy Conservation and Optimization Act (ECO) in 2024, we’re developing new member programs, such as a virtual metered EV rate charging program and behind-the-meter storage options, along with exploring other initiatives.
